How long had it been since he'd curled in with someone this way? How long since he'd wanted to? He nuzzled against Varric's jaw and gave warm little kisses as he settled there, his arm draped around Varric's waist. This, he thought, was how life should feel. Warm, sated, hopeful, with the security of a roof over his head, and trusted arms around him. What he'd done to deserve it, he wasn't sure, but he had no intent of letting go.

"Rest, amasio mei," he whispered. "I can't wait to kiss you good morning."

The kisses knocked him out of his idiotic thought train and he kissed back, peppering a soft rain of kisses over his forehead, his cheeks, his nose, those ridiculous little ears.

"Night, Broody," he mumbled, only bothering to move enough to blow out the nearest candle. The rest of the room's light was from the fireplace, and fuck trying to put that out.

With that, he drew Fenris a little closer to him and faded off to sleep.
